Fascia, Soffits and Gutter Replacement

Ask a lot of people what or where the fascias and soffits are on their home and many wouldn’t know – certainly immediately anyway…
But they are a very crucial, albeit often overlooked part of the house.
This is especially when you think of maintenance and repairs.
Situated at the eaves of the roof, far too high for many of us to feel comfortable climbing up to to do any work on them.
They actually perform several key tasks for the home:
- They hold and secure the front row of roofing tiles.
- They are where the guttering is fixed too, allowing for the rain to drain away safely without causing any damage to our property.
- They form a weatherproof seal to our roof and loft space, stopping animals and birds from getting inside and of course protect the ends of roof framework.
Fascias and soffits are usually made of timber, or in the case of older properties, a solid form of asbestos mixed with cement.
They require regular maintenance and painting to keep them functioning correctly and in a good condition.
Because of where they are, its all too easy to overlook them until it gets too late.
With a combined 45 years experience in the roofing industry myself and my team can offer a full replacement service.
We can remove the existing guttering, the rotten timber fascias and soffit boards and fit replacements in weatherproof, maintenance free PVCU alongside brand new guttering in a choice of colours and styles.
This will leave your home with a 100% weatherproof and virtually maintenance free roof (aside from an occasional clean).
What Are Soffits and Fascias?
The fascias are the vertical part of the roof edge, the part that holds the guttering. The soffit is the board that lies horizontally underneath, this seals the void in the roof, keeping animals and birds from getting into your loft space.
On detached and some semi detached houses, many have pointed ends to the roof, these are called gables and the boards that run up the edge of the roof and form the triangle are called barge boards.

How Much Would Replacement Cost Me?
It’s hard to give a firm price, because every roof is different with varying shapes, designs and gutter layouts.
It will also depend on what colours chosen.
Standard fascias and soffits are available in white finish.
These can be paired up with black or white guttering in a half round ( as seen in image above) or a squareline finish.
At additional cost you can choose from whole wealth of colours and finishes including woodgrain, black, and brown.
This is why we prefer to inspect each household and provide a full (and FREE) quotation based on your requirements and choices.
