How To Stop Your Gutters Getting Blocked
It’s quite easy and very common for gutters on your home or business to get blocked up with leaves, moss and other debris.
This is especially true if you have any trees in close proximity.
The trouble is that unless they are low level, or you are brave enough to climb up to the roof and check them a couple of times a year, you simply do not know that they are getting blocked until rain water starts to cascade down onto your head or the floor, possibly soaking the brick work on your home.
This can lead too serious damp problems and other issues.
The Solution
There is an easy solution, one that we would say is essential if you live in an area with lots of trees near to your home.
Blocked gutters can be made a thing of the past by having a gutter guard fitted.
These come in a couple of styles as below:

Clip in Gutter Guards
Clip in gutter guards are a great choice for smaller lengths of guttering, they are flat plastic grills each about 1 meter long that are clipped together and secure into your guttering.
They catch all but the smallest leaves and clumps of moss, allowing for rain water to drain through into the guttering easily and improving flow even in the heaviest storms.
The cheapest to buy but more labour intensive to fit ( and to remove if and as required).
Hedgehog Brush
The aptly named hedgehog brush is suitable for longer lengths of guttering, it is flexible, and easy to fit into any configuration or style of gutter.
They are excellent at catching and stopping virtually all leaves, moss and any other foreign objects from getting into the gutter and blocking or restricting the flow of rain water.
Slightly more expensive to buy initially, but faster and generally cheaper to install.
They are also easily removed for any future maintenance if and as required.
